Some think that email marketing is antiquated; that it’s all about using social media, others may tell you that they’re generating money on autopilot thanks to their email marketing funnels. Why Building a List Matters

If you have a website, visitors come and go. Some may click your affiliate links, but most will simply absorb your content and move on. If you don’t have a way of communicating with your visitors, you won’t have a way to try to sell them again.

If you build a list, you can speak to people who have shown an interest in your product and keep selling to them. Without a list, you have to depend on getting sales one time – when they show up on your site.

How to Build an Email List Effectively

Now that you know why you should be building a list, the question is HOW should you go about doing it? First, you’ll want to give your website visitors a compelling reason to get onto your email list.
Create a lead magnet of some kind. It can be as simple as a 3-page PDF that you call a “Special Report.” Feel free to use the resources you find online to compile essential data for your readers, always giving credit to the sources used. Next, write a follow-up email sequence to keep giving your reader essential pieces of information over the span of a few days. Figure out what works best for your reader. Some marketers like doing one email per day for a few days, others spread it out to a longer time period. You’ll have to find the combination that works best for you. If you have a blog about male enhancement, be sure you’re dropping your affiliate link in each email you write to your subscribers. Don’t be afraid to sell in every email you send.

Think about the type of emails that you enjoy reading. Are they long and boring? No, they’re likely shorter as well as entertaining.
Identify your audience, then speak to them how they want to be spoken to. Most people searching the Internet for solutions to embarrassing problems aren’t looking for scientific studies. They’re probably looking for simple, easy-to-use solutions that can help them overcome a current challenge.
