Increase Traffic and Revenue with a Blog

It’s easy to get a website up and running, but generating traffic and turning it into revenue is an entirely different matter. In order to get your site ranking well and bringing in targeted traffic, it’s important to have fresh content on your website. One of the least expensive and most profitable ways of maintaining high rankings and bringing in new traffic is with a blog.
Who is Your Audience?
One of the mistakes that marketers often make is that we try to reach too wide of an audience. An exercise that might help you narrow down your website’s focus is to create a client avatar.
Ask yourself a few questions:
- Who is my ideal website visitor?
- Are they male or female?
- How old are they?
- What do they do for a living?
- What problem do they want to solve?
- What does my ideal visitor fear?
- What do they want?
Open up a blank document and answer these questions so that you can focus content towards this ideal website visitor. Whenever you write an article, make sure you’re writing to that person. If your site reviews men’s sexual health products, think about the type of problems that a man visiting your site would be faced with. Think about the insecurities they’re facing, and show how the product you’re offering can help them overcome those insecurities.
Capture More Organic Traffic
Another one of the benefits of blogging is that you’re going to be able to capture a lot more organic web traffic. While many new website owners think about targeting huge, broad keywords, the real money is made by targeting long-tail keywords. Long-tail keywords are phrases that are searched that contain three or more words. The vast majority of searches put into search engines are long-tail keywords, and blogging allows you to capture some of that valuable traffic.
Long-tail keyword traffic is profitable because that traffic generally converts the best! Long-tail searches are often specific questions that are answered within a blog post. If you were to post an article entitled, “How Does VigRx Plus Work?” you could include information about the ingredients, how they interact, and the benefits that each one has for men.
Think about why would someone search the term, “how does VigRX Plus work?” It’s because they want to know more about the supplement! Maybe someone recommended it to them, and now they’re interested in buying. That’s a warm lead for potential customer, and it’s in your best interest as an affiliate to lead that potential customer to a sale.
You can find long-tail search phrases in a couple of different places. Open up a browser window and start typing a question. Do you see the auto-suggested phrases that come up? People are typing in those phrases to look for answers, so give the people what they want. Each one of those auto-suggested phrases is a potential blog post for you!
Another resource you can use to find long-tail keywords is Answer The Public (https://www.answerthepublic.com/). Just put in a keyword, and it’ll throw out a number of different questions related to your keyword that people commonly search. It’ll give you a lot of ideas that you’ll be able to write about.
Outsourcing Your Content
It’s hard to stay on top of a lot of websites and regularly add content to them. If you don’t have time to write articles for your site, find yourself a handful of quality writers who can write blog posts for you on a regular basis.
Facebook has a number of groups where you can connect with writers. Ask for references you can email, and review samples to make sure you’re getting the quality you’re looking for. Be sure to nail down their rates (typically it’s per word) and the type of payment they accept:
- Content Writing and Writers Work (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1226298374054246/)
- Serious Content Writers Needed (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1686983161552440/)
- Content Writers Forum (https://www.facebook.com/groups/538542046280890/)
The Content Authority (https://thecontentauthority.com/) is a site where you can order individual articles or order them in bulk. They have a few tiers of writers, so you’ll pay more for articles written by the most experienced writers. When you place an order, just specify which tier writer you’re looking for, the topic, and desired word count. Turnaround time is between 24 and 72 hours.
TextBroker (https://www.textbroker.com) is another site where you can order content in bulk. There are a number of options available to you for different prices. TextBroker is the option that’ll get your topic in front of the greatest number of writers, but that doesn’t always translate to quality. Be sure to see a few articles from a writer before you send them a bulk order.
Finding a quality writer is tough, but can be one of the most valuable tools you can have. If you need recommendations for writers, contact your Affiliate Manager to see if there’s anyone they can recommend for your site.

Consistency is Key
Once you start blogging, keep going! Search engines reward those sites that add fresh, new content. If you’re ranking high, keep those rankings by adding new content. The more topics you write about, the greater the opportunity to convert another sale.
